I created #1625 as separate feature request. QOwnNotes even now detects conflict files of Nextcloud, ownCloud and Dropbox. If someone wants to spend that amount of time on it (are you volunteering?) it would be the same amount if done with an external sync tool. It would be quite a huge amount of work to try to sync two (or more) sqlite databases. Intilligent metadata sync - merge sqlite database content (e.g. File syncing is a complex business and sync tools are very sophisticated! Integrating even one service to reliably sync a folder structure with 1000s of files (possibly very large ones for note attachments) in the background would a huge amount of work. ) then most likely you also have that sync client already installed. If you are using a file service (like ownCloud, Nextcloud, Dropbox, Syncthing, Bittorrent sync, SMB. These notes are saved as markdown files on the computer without being locked by any external or paid provider. Simplicity/Manageability - separate software require it's own configuration/update/maintenance process QOwnNotes is an open-source tool for taking notes that integrates Nextcloud and ownCloud servers, thus allowing you to securely control all the notes on your device. In what way do you think it is not secure? And in what way would that be different in QON? API for QOwnNotes, the open source notepad for Linux, macOS and Windows. Security - generic folder-syncyng software is not secure by it's nature and is forbbiden in most of corporate environment In order to fully switch to Nextcloud Id have to figure out how to sync this. So what system are we talking about? Just ownCloud? Nextcloud is far more popular nowadays. If you want to sync your notes a service to sync the notes to is required. It would be nice if QOwnNotes will manage notes sync without any additional software. QON is also built in a way to allow external tools to sync those files. Use ownCloud Notes to edit your notes in. Sync your notes over devices (desktop & mobile) with your ownCloud or Nextcloud sync client. You own your own notes stored as plain-text files on device. QON is completely file-based and you can use every sync service to sync your notes. QOwnNotes the a plain-text file markdown note taking application that optionally works together with the notes application of ownCloud or Nextcloud. Optional encryption of notes (AES-256 is built in or you can use custom encryption methods like Keybase.io (opens new window) ( encryption-keybase.qml (opens new window)) or PGP ( encryption-pgp.Thank you for your suggestion.
